A few people has asked to see what our new house on the farm looks like, so here it is! It's a beautiful farmhouse that some people estimate was built in the early 1900's. A great family friend used to live here and I have fond memories of visiting him here often. When he passed away, his daughter remodeled the house and rented it to us. It's been such a blessing for our family. The dogs love the wide-open space and John and I finally have our first garden! We live in a rural area and are pretty secluded. The house is the only one on the dirt road, so we get minimal traffic. It sits on a pretty big farm with ponds, pasture and cotton fields. In other words, it's great!

Not only did we get an awesome house, we also got an awesome dog too! We
like to joke that he came with the house, but we really are lucky to have him. I
can only imagine how sad dogs are when their owners pass away :( We've
done our best to make him part of the family though. Rudi and him play a lot
and he's even got a nice, cozy bed to sleep on outside. He is big and scary-looking, but he really is a sweetheart!

Sometimes when the babies and I get bored, I put them in the stroller and we go for walks around the property. The bumbleride stroller is great even on these sandy dirt roads. The only bad part about it are the gnats!

Even though we love this house, we still plan on building our own house in the near future. It's been great living in a house (as opposed to an apartment), so that we can tell what we like and don't like when in comes to our future house. Thankfully, we are pretty much settled in from our September move. Now John and I are both looking to find permanent jobs in the area, so that we can start to move forward with the construction. Hopefully if John can find a good one, I can stay at home with the babies and be the general contractor :)

You're gonna have everyone wanting to move down to our "little slice of heaven." Tell'em about the gnats and the humidity and the 20 mile trek to buy a loaf of bread and the critters that go "bump in the night!"
Beautiful! Rex looks friendly. So glad you all are happy in your new place.
